BATTERY & CHARGER OPERATION
NOTICE/AVIS
The battery does not charge while plugged into the stretcher bed
even if the stretcher bed is plugged into an outlet. See charging
instructions for directions on charging the battery.
La batterie ne se recharge pas lorsqu’il est branché dans le fauteuil
même si la civière mobile est branchée sur une prise. Voir les instructions

Charging
The battery has an LCD fuel gauge located on the end of the
battery. This fuel gauge displays five (5) bars when fully charged.
Each bar represents twenty percent of the battery’s capacity
(Figure 1)

Fully charge battery prior to use. To charge the battery,

Plug the charger power cord into a properly grounded 100-
240 VAC electrical outlet.
2.
Place the charger on a flat surface away from heat and
moisture.
3.
Align the battery connector and charger connector and push
them together. The MTI Logo on the battery and label pull
tab should face out (Figure 2).
4.
The charger will automatically begin to charge the battery.
The LCD fuel gage on the battery will flash to indicate
charging is in process.

NOTICE/AVIS
MTI recommends the following procedure be followed in order to
ensure that the battery is always ready for use and maintains a
higher life expectancy.
MTI recommande de suivre la procédure suivante afin de s’assurer
que la batterie est toujours prête à être utilisée et conserve une
durée de vie plus longue.
MTI provides (2) batteries for each stretcher bed purchased. Best
practices are as follows:
1.
At the end of the day remove the battery from the stretcher
bed and charge it.
2.
Before the next surgery, insert a fully charged battery into
the stretcher bed.
3.
Alternate batteries every day.
NOTICE/AVIS
Leaving the battery on the charger, even when fully charged, will not
damage the battery or the charger.
Le fait de laisser la batterie sur le chargeur, même lorsqu’il est
complètement chargé, n’endommagera pas la batterie ou le
chargeur.
Charge time for a fully depleted battery should typically be less
than 2 hours, at which time the green LED on the charger should
be solid and the fuel gauge on the end of the battery should
show five bars.
LED Indication
The charging status of the battery is indicated by three LEDs on
the front of the charger:
Green flashing
Battery is charging
Green solid
Battery is fully charged
Blue flashing
Battery is being calibrated
Blue Solid
Battery is calibrated
Red Flashing
Battery fuel gauge needs calibration
Red Solid
Error or battery is unrecoverable
Discharging
If the stretcher bed’s power cord is plugged into a mains AC
outlet, the bed will be powered by mains AC power, even
with a battery inserted into the stretcher bed battery holster.
If AC power is removed or unplugged, the stretcher bed will
automatically switch to battery power.
