Instrument Panel Mudd-Ox GT/XL
1. Neutral Light:
Illuminates when both control levers are in neutral position. This is required for the vehicle to start.
2. Parking Brake Light
: Illuminates when the parking brake is engaged. This is required for the vehicle to start.
3. Engine Oil Low Warning Light:
Illuminates when the engine oil is dangerously low. If illuminated, stop vehicle immediately and diagnose why
the oil level is low, repair, then fill.
4. Glow Plugs Warning Light:
Illuminates when the glow plugs are being preheated. See #7 and engine owner’s manual for additional informa-
tion.
5. Tachometer:
The Murphy display unit shows both the engine RPM’s and hour meter.
6. Push-Button Throttle:
For easy of driving, Mudd-Ox GT/XL are designed with a push button throttle system. Once the engine is started, simply
press the rabbit symbol for higher RPM, and the turtle for lower RPM.
7. Ignition Switch:
When the key is installed, it will toggle the engine on and off. To start the engine: Turn key completely counterclockwise and
hold for approx. 10 seconds; this will preheat the engine glow plugs. Then, turn completely clockwise to start engine, release once started. Turn
key to middle position to shut off engine. (If the engine fails to start after 10 seconds, most likely in colder climates, reheat the glow plugs for 5
to 30 seconds and then try again).

8. Head Lights Switch:
Flipping the switch to “ON” will activate the headlights and tail lights.
Never
operate the Mudd-Ox at night without lights.
9. Emergency Bypass Switch:
It is designed to override preliminary startup procedures to quickly start the vehicle. By holding the switch in the
“ON” position, it will bypass the need for control levers to be in neutral, and will bypass the parking brake.
Note:
this is for emergency use only.
Using this switch without care could cause the vehicle start and immediately move depending on operator lever location.
10. Bilge Pump Switch:
When in an emergency, if the Mudd-Ox has water in the lower body, quickly flip on the bilge pump switch. This will im-
mediately begin to pump water out of the vehicle.
Caution:
This is a feature to remove small amounts of water. If the machine is completely
filled, you must quickly exit quickly.
