FUNCTION:
Once the Digital Counter function is chosen for one of the assignable digital inputs, the setpoint messages shown here will follow the
assignment message. Each closure of the switch will be counted, by either adding or decrementing the counter value. An alarm may be
configured when a certain count is reached. The counter value may be viewed in the ‘Counters’ sub-group of Actual Values, Page 4,
‘MAINTENANCE’
To initialize counter: Program value here and then go to Setpoints page 1 (S1), Clear Data section and change Preset Digital Counter to
YES.
EXAMPLE:
A Capacitive proximity probe may be used to sense non-magnetic
units that are passing by on a conveyor, glass bottles for instance.
The probe could be powered from the +24V from the input switch
power supply. The NPN transistor output could be taken to one of
the assignable digital inputs configured as a counter.
