3.4 Temperature measurements
1. Set the function switch to the
Temp
position.
2. Insert probe connector banana plugs into
the negative
COM
and positive
Temp
terminals in keeping with polarity.
3. Press the
MODE
key to indicate
ºF
or
ºC
4. Touch the Temperature Probe head to the
part whose temperature you wish to
measure.
5. The temperature measured is displayed.
The temperature probe is fitted with a type K mini connector.
A mini connector to banana plug adaptor is supplied for connection
to the terminals.
3.5 Capacity measurements
To avoid any risk of deterioration, turn off the circuit to be
tested and unload capacitors before making capacity
measurements.
1. Set the function switch to the
Ω CAP
position.
2. Insert the black test lead banana plug into the
negative
COM
terminal.
Insert the red test lead banana plug into the
positive
+
terminal.
3. Press the
MODE
key to display “
nF
” on screen.
4. Apply test probes to the tips of the capacitor to
be measured.
5. The measurement may take up to 3 minutes or
more for large capacitors, due to load time.
6. Wait until the displayed measurement settles
before ending the test.
7. The capacity value is displayed on screen.
3.6 AC current measurements (frequency, duty cycle)
Do not make 20 A current measurements for longer than 30 s.
Exceeding 30 seconds may cause damage to the multimeter
and/or the test leads.
