Emergencies
■
ALWAYS
know the location of the
nearest
first aid kit.
■
Know the phone numbers of the
nearest
ambulance
,
doctor
and
fire department
.
Ensure
that a phone or radio is readily available at the
jobsite. If this is not possible, know the location of
the nearest phone. This information will be
invaluable in the event of an emergency.
■
ALWAYS
shut down the engine and disconnect battery before
performing service or maintenance functions. Contact with
moving parts can cause serious injury.
■
Securely support any trowel components that must be raised.
■
NEVER
lubricate components or attempt service on a running
trowel.
■
ALWAYS
allow the trowel a proper amount of time to cool
before servicing.
■
Keep the trowel in proper running condition.
■
Make sure that there is no buildup of concrete, grease, oil or
debris on the machine.
■
Repair damage to the trowel immediately and always replace
broken parts.
■
Dispose of hazardous waste properly. Examples of potentially
hazardous waste are used motor oil, fuel and fuel filters.
■
DO NOT
use plastic food containers to dispose of hazardous
waste.
■
DO NOT
pour waste oil or fuel directly onto the ground, down
a drain or into any water source.
■
NEVER
store trowel with fuel in the tank for any extended
period of time. Always clean up spilled fuel immediately.
Maintenance Safety

fire extinguisher.
