10.2 Tracing and Dealing with Problem Apps and Games
Many issues on the Amazon Fire can be app related. As a result, take a look at the settings for
the app you suspect to be causing the problem.
This is something you should first investigate by opening the app itself and checking the
settings. If there are any options you think could be causing the problem, disable them.
Should this result in no change, open
Settings > Apps & Games
where you will be able to find
the app in question (using the
Filter
by drop down menu) and check how much
Storage
it is
using, the size of the app’s
Cache
, and any
Defaults
and
Permissions
.
To check for an immediate improvement in performance, use the
Force Stop
button. This
usually works, but if not, use the
Clear Data
,
Clear Cache,
and
Clear defaults
buttons.
Failing success here, of course, you should
Uninstall
the app completely.
You can deal with space issues, meanwhile, by tapping the
Move to Storage
button in the
settings for large apps. Where compatible, apps can then be migrated to your
microSD card
.
