Utility Side MV Terminations
All metering and protection relay current measurements are measured from the Utility
side of the myPV ClearSky. To ensure the current transformers (CTs) are easily
serviceable, all six (6) CTs are installed outside the central switching cabinet.
The CTs are bolted to slotted strut to allow for horizontal positioning, and even
temporary removal to accommodate MV conductor pulls and routing. In extreme MV
cable management scenarios the CTs may be left unmounted, so long as the phase,
orientation, and control wiring is not modified. Solar-Ops applies phase labels to each
CT that indicate “Up” and “Top” for each CT to help avoid a CT from being “flipped” in
the event it is unmounted during MV cable installation.
CTs are solid core and require being slipped over the MV conductor. The CTs have
been specified with large center openings to ensure they may be installed over and
removed from standard elbow terminations.
Fully Terminated Utility Side MV Conductors
NOTE: All concentric neutrals and bleed wires should pass through the center of the CTs (as
shown above).
