Troubleshooting

When working with the myPV CommsSafe, communication with your equipment is
essential. However, in the event that the ethernet comms seem to be out, there are a
few things to try.
CONNECTORS: First and foremost, verify the color order of the conductors and the
connectors; make sure all connectors are firmly seated. In the event that a connector
is loose, simply remove power, terminate the connection, and then restore power.
SURGE ARRESTORS: If all connections are firmly seated and in the correct order,
there is a chance that the surge arrestors have blown. In the event that a surge
arrestor has blown, bypass the surge arrestor and contact our support team.
BAD PORT OR SWITCH: If you believe the issue to be a bad port in the switch or a
bad switch in general, our support team would be more than happy to help assist
with troubleshooting and testing to make sure the issue is resolved properly and in
good time.
RS485 Device Comms
In the event that your RS485 Device Comms are not working, the first thing to check
is making sure that the data plus (D+) and data minus (D-) wires are not swapped,
loose, or unsecured. Occasionally during shipment or installation the connections
can become loose. Simply secure and terminate the connections if that is the case.
