In tracking mode, the 9602-LP goes through three different power consumption segments: (1) the sleep 

(in between reports) segment, (2) GPS acquisition segment, and (3) SBD transmission segment. Figure below 
shows different stages of current drawn by the 9602 when in tracking mode. During the sleep segment, the 
9602-LP goes into power-saving mode by shutting down all its internal circuits. 

 

 

The average current drawn by the 9602-LP during sleep with 3.6VDC–5VDC input is shown in Figure 21.
