General Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause(s)
Solution
Controller does not
power up when
power switch is
flipped.
Controller is not plugged in.
Plug in controller.
GFI or circuit breaker is tripped, or fuses blown. Reset breaker, or replace fuse.
Display does not
show pH, ORP,
Conductivity, or
Temp.
These measurements do not appear in
Operating Data if the probes are configured as
Not Installed.
Configure these probes as Monitor Only
or Controlling.
3D TRASAR 3500 controller requires upgrade
to measure pH and ORP.
Purchase 3D TRASAR pH upgrade
P/N 060-TR3211.88, or ORP upgrade
P/N 060-TR3221.88
Display does not
show Nalco
Bio- Index.
This measurement does not appear in System
Performance unless 3D Bio-Control is selected
as the oxidizing biocide control method.
Select 3D Bio-Control as the oxidizing
biocide control method.

Purchase 3D TRASAR fluorometer

One or more relays
are in failsafe mode.
There is an alarm condition affecting that relay. Check the active alarms and adjust
settings if needed.
One or more relays
are not operating.
The jumper supplying power to the contact
closure has been removed. In this case, the
display will still indicate that the relay is on.
Check to be sure the relay power
jumper is connected properly.
The product level is above (or below for
blowdown and caustic control) the set point and
control range.
The relay does not need to be on.
There is a No Flow Alarm, during which the
relays may not operate. In this case, the
display will still indicate that the relay is off.
Check the active alarms and increase
flow if needed.
There is an Interlock Alarm, during which the
relays will not operate. In this case, the display
will indicate that the relay is off.
Check the active alarms and be sure
the Interlock cable is connected
properly (or jumper, if Interlock is not
used).
A calibration is underway, during which the
relays will not operate.
Complete or cancel the calibration
procedure.
The affected relay(s) is in Manual Off mode. In
this case, the display will indicate that the relay
is in Manual Off mode.
Using the keypad Menu item Manual
Relay Control, return the relay to Auto
mode.
