• The total volume of the cooling system is 10.6 U.S gal-
lons.
• The measured concentration of ethylene glycol is 35%
by volume (freezing point -6 °F). According to the table
there are 3.7 U.S gallons of ethylene glycol in the cooling
system.
• The required concentration of ethylene glycol is 45% by
volume (freezing point -22°F). According to the table, 4.8
U.S gallons of ethylene glycol are required in the cooling
system.
• Since the cooling system already contains 3.7 U.S gal-
lons, fill another 1.1 U.S gallons of ethylene glycol in the
cooling system (4.8 - 3.7 = 1.1 U.S gallons).
