Restoring the NI Linux Real-Time Operating
System
Complete the following steps to restore the NI Linux Real-Time operating system to its factory
default condition. These steps do not restore the BIOS settings to factory default. Use the
Load Optimal Defaults
option in the
Exit Menu
of the BIOS setup utility to restore the BIOS
settings.
Caution
Restoring the operating system erases the contents of the onboard storage.
Back up any files you want to keep before restoring the onboard storage.
1. Start the ISC-178x in safe mode.
2. Launch NI MAX on the development computer.
3. In the MAX configuration tree, expand
Remote Systems
.
4. Right-click the name of the ISC-178x you want to restore and select
Format Disk
.
5. Enter the username and password for the device. By default, the username is
admin
and
the password field is blank.
