BIOS
This chapter contains information on the BIOS (Basic Input Output
System), the low-level interface between the hardware and PC software
that configures and tests your hardware at boot up. The BIOS features an
easy-to-use graphical user interface you use to configure system aspects
according to your needs.
Entering BIOS Setup
To enter the BIOS setup program, perform the following steps:
1.
Turn on or reboot the system. A screen appears with a series of
diagnostic checks.
2.
When
Hit <DEL> if you want to run SETUP
appears,
press the <DEL> key to enter the BIOS setup program.
3.
Choose options with the keyboard. Modify the settings to reflect
system options.
Default BIOS Setup Settings
To restore the default settings while inside the BIOS setup program,
select either
FAILSAFE Defaults
or
OPTIMAL Defaults
.
Select the Optimal settings if you want to get maximum performance from
the VXIpc 870 Series. Fail Safe settings are for debugging purposes.
