SPECIAL CAPABILITIES:
Pattern-From-A-Pattern Duplication:
To duplicate a pattern from a pattern:
1.
Place the pattern to be copied on the pattern retainer.
2.
Utilizing the special pattern duplicator adaptor (PDA) found in the accessory kit,
mount a pattern blank on the adaptor. Chuck the blank into the lens clamp.
3.
Engage the
Rimless
button, and set the size at 38.5 (36.5mm for size-on-size plus
the 2mm overset for rimless cuts).
4.
Edge the pattern for an exact copy.
Pattern-From-A-Lens Duplication:
To duplicate a pattern from a lens:
1.
Determine the mechanical center of the lens, using a protractor or a box-a-graph.
Using the special pattern-from-a-lens (PFL) brass adaptor in the accessory kit,
block the lens on the
concave
side with a LEAP pad.
2.
Place the lens on the edger’s pattern retainer as you would a pattern.
3.
Utilizing the special pattern duplicator adaptor (PDA) found in the accessory kit,
mount a pattern blank on the adaptor. Chuck the blank into the lens clamp.
4.
Engage the
Rimless
button, and set the size at 38.5 (36.5mm for size-on-size plus
the 2mm overset for rimless cuts).
5.
Reduce the pattern tracking pressure on the front control panel to 30psi, and edge
the pattern blank. This reduction in pressure will prevent thin lenses from
bending on the pattern roller.
6.
Remove the cut pattern and verify that it matches the lens perfectly.
