INCORPORATED
ELECTRICAL FAILURE:
No Electrical Power:
A.
Edger Circuit Breaker.
The edger's circuit breaker is incorporated into the
On/Off switch. To reset, move the switch to the Off position, and after
pausing approximately 30 seconds, move the switch back to the On Position.
B.
Lab Circuit Breaker.
The line power should be rechecked. Unplug the
vacuum unit from the edger and plug it into the receptacle that the edger is
utilizing. If the vacuum operates the line, power is OK. If not, locate the lab's
circuit panel and reset the breaker.
Edger Circuit Breaker Continuously Trips:
A.
Bodine Cutter Motor Controller is shorted.
Switch the Cutter Motor
Controller’s switch to
OFF
position, insert a pattern into the pattern retainer
and a lens block (not a full lens!) into the lens chuck, press the Chuck button,
then press Start. This procedure is referred to as “cycling the Edger”
throughout this Troubleshooting Guide. If the breaker holds, the cutter motor
controller will need to be replaced.
B.
Vacuum Motor is Bad.
Switch the Vacuum to
OFF
position and cycle the
edger. If the breaker holds, the vacuum motor will need to be replaced.
C.
Lens Drive Diode Pack is Shorted.
Disconnect the lens drive assembly and
diode pack from the edger wiring harness and cycle the edger. If the breaker
holds, the diode pack will need to be replaced.
Loss Of Control Panel Functions:
When the power is switched ON, the ON/OFF switch light and the light inside the
machine comes on. However, none of the control panel switches will function.
A.
Blown Transformer Fuse.
Locate the fuse holder located on the transformer
mounting bracket. Remove the fuse and replace with a fresh fuse of the same
rating.
B.
Control Panel Failure.
If replacing the fuse does not remedy the problem,
replacement of the control panel is indicated.
