3.
Watch the LED indicator on the solenoid.
After approximately ten seconds, the LED indicator should light, this will
indicate power to the solenoid. Every revolution of the lens as the Actuator
Magnet passes the proximity switch the light should go out momentarily. If the
LED indicator fails to light, verify DC power using a voltmeter.
1.
Connect the Red meter lead to the White/Red wire of the Amp-style
connector.
2.
Connect the Black meter lead to the White/Violet wire of the Amp-style
connector.
3.
Ensure the meter is set to the DC voltage scale. Close the case top and
cycle the edger.
When the cycle is first started there should be no voltage present. After
approximately ten seconds the meter should indicate approximately 24 volts DC.
Every revolution of the lens as the Actuator Magnet passes the Proximity Switch
the meter should momentarily read zero volts. If none or very low voltage is
indicated, use a multimeter to check the wires from the Amp-style connector back
to the control panel for breaks. If a broken wire is indicated, the break will have
to be located and repaired. If no break is indicated, the Control Panel will have to
be replaced.
FLOW RESTRICTORS:
The Flow Restrictors have fixed orifices that, in conjunction with check
valves, regulate the movement of the Lens Drive carriage, Cutter Motor carriage and
Differential.
Identification:
LENS DRIVE CARRIAGE FLOW CYLINDER:
IFC-14
- This is a Restrictor/Check Valve combination. Located in airline
#6, it regulates the forward movement of the Lens Drive carriage.
1375-2
- This is a check valve. Located in airline #11 it acts to shut off air
to the Lens Drive Flow Cylinder when the Finish Only cycle is
NOT
being utilized.
