Data Download
Field deployed ZephIR systems can be accessed for data
download via the integrated GSM modem or ethernet. In
both cases, access to the system is provided by the ZephIR
User Interface application.
ZephIR systems store data onto a removable compact flash
card which is stored in the customer interface panel located
on the front of the system. The flash card stores in excess of
365 days of wind data and 3 days of averaged spectrum for
more in-depth analysis of performance where required.
Wind data
The following data is stored on the compact flash card for
each data entry
•
Horizontal wind speed;
•
Direction of wind relative to the zero direction
(North) of the sensor;
•
Vertical Wind Speed;
•
Turbulence Parameter;
•
Height Reading;
•
External Generator Fuel Level;
•
Battery Level;
•
System Status Flags
o Pod temperatures within spec.
o Interlock status.
o Other critical system status indicators.
•
Washer Fluid Level;
•
Wind Vane reading;
•
Orientation;
•
Reference to raw data;
•
Time and date;
•
Number of points in fit;
•
MET Station;
o Temperature
o Humidity
o Barometric pressure
o Wind speed
•
Location (GPS or manual entry)
Averaged Spectra
The following data is stored on the compact flash card for
each data entry
•
FFT Spectra
•
Angle Reading
•
Height Reading
•
Reference to wind data
Data Download
The ZephIR PC software should be used to download data
from a ZephIR unit. A valid login will be required before
this can take place.
If the data is to be downloaded over GSM, a dial up
connection is also required. Please see the ZephIR
Installation document for information on setting up these
connections.
Data On Request
To request data from the ZephIR unit, select ‘Request
Data’ from the ZephIR menu. This will open the ZephIR
data request window.
There are four types of data that can be downloaded:
•
Wind [speed] data
•
Averaged wind [speed] data
•
Spectra
•
Other customer data - collected via the auxiliary
customer data port.
In the case of wind [speed] data, the option is given
to only download data with a reference greater than
a specified value. When a download is complete, the
user will be notified of the highest reference in the
downloaded data. By specifying this as a starting
point next time, only more recent wind data will be
downloaded.
When requesting averaged wind data, the averaging is
performed on the ZephIR before transmission to save
bandwidth. The averaging period is supplied in seconds.
Once the required data and any other options have been
selected, click ‘OK’. The user will be prompted for a
location and filename to save the wind data to. Once this
has been selected, download will begin. The user will be
notified once it is complete.
Burst mode is intended for high latency connections, such
as satellite or GPRS connections, and should enable the
three second wind data to be downloaded much faster
than would otherwise be the case. In certain situations,
burst mode may fail to download all the data. In this case,
normal downloading can be performed by de-selecting
this option.
