GSM Communications
ZephIR includes an integrated GSM modem and GSM aerial.
In the interests of data security, the ZephIR system requires
the insertion of a user supplied SIM card.
The modem is located within the customer interface
enclosure, behind a secondary panel, which must be
removed to gain access to the SIM card. For detailed
information regarding the insertion of the SIM card, refer
to the ‘System power-up and site configuration’ section of
this manual.
The GSM aerial is mounted on the mast head mounting
point.

GSM Modem specification
ZephIR systems incorporates a GSM/GPRS TC65T Siemens
Quad band modem.
2.
ZephIR dial-up application
Systems are supplied with the ZephIR dial-up application.
This software application provides the remote user with full
access to the ZephIR set-up and download of wind data.
Within the ZephIR dial-up application, there is an encrypted
location which enables the user to insert the SIM card
reference and dial-up information to ensure that security is
not breached.
Installation of the ZephIR dial-up application is not limited
to a single PC or laptop to provide users with flexibility. For
information on the installation of this software application,
refer to the section ‘Setting up the PC Software’ in this
manual. Please ensure your PC has a modem connected to
it before use.
