Shipping and the ZephIR
battery pod
Within the battery pod of the ZephIR systems are housed
four ‘Gelled Electrolyte Sealed lead acid batteries’.
As standard, the units are supplied with four 33 Ah @ 12V,
providing a nominal supply of 66Ah @ 24V.
During shipping, (especially for air freight), batteries should
be disconnected from the control electronics of the
system, and the battery terminals should be isolated.
ZephIR battery pod represents the bulkiest and heaviest
component within ZephIR system and should only be
transported when housed in its packaging case.

Battery disconnection
Prior to shipment by rail, air or sea, it is recommended
that the batteries in ZephIR are disconnected from the
electronics of the ZephIR system.
To do this, the user should remove the battery pod lid,
by removing the eight ‘pin-head’ allen key screws and
disconnecting the 5 connectors located in the pocket of
the battery pod.
The battery pod lid can then be replaced ready for
shipping.
