Information on GPS Reception
Reception problems may arise in the following situations:
GPS signals are blocked in tunnels.
Covering the device will lead to the suppression of the GPS signal
reception.
The GPS signal is blocked inside buildings.
In tall buildings (especially in high buildings, such as skyscrapers), the
GPS signal is low and reception problems may arise.
In forests, or when travelling through densely vegetated areas, the
GPS signal is low and disturbances may arise.
Other reasons for reduction in the reception quality and/or disturbances in the signal received:
• In vehicles, sun visors can reduce or completely block the signal reception.
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby
phones etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• Proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered computers or other electric appliances in use

A detailed operating manual for this product and the provided software can be found on the CD-
ROM included in the delivery.
Maintenance and Care
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be opened or disassembled
for any reason.
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleansing agents or
chemical solutions, since they might damage the surface of the housing.
Disposal
a) General Information
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechar-
geable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols
to indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for
the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned to
collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechar-
geable batteries/coin cells are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
