Reset and Clear
Refer to this section when the server does not operate or when the setting contents previously
set in BIOS need to be restored to the factory default.
Reset
Hard Reset
When the reset is required after setting BIOS, Web BIOS, etc. and the server does not
operate properly, the server can be reset by the following procedures.
1. Reset from EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor
Operate navigation buttons of EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor and perform the following from
Operation Menu

“Serverx -> Chassis Control -> Hard Reset.”
2. Reset from server Web Console
After connecting to server Web console, perform the following from

3. Reset from BIOS menu
Start BIOS and perform the following from
Main Menu
of BIOS.
Select
“Boot Maintenance Manager -> Reset System.”
4. Reset from SMASH-CLP
Refer the chapter of SMASH-CLP for details.
IMPORTANT:
Hard reset clears memory inside DIMM of the server and the data
being processed. To perform reset besides when the server hangs
up, ensure that no process is operated by the server.
