Description
Profusion carrier
The profusion carrier provides the interface for processors (via one or two processor
mezzanine boards), memory modules, and cache coherency filters.
Processor
mezzanine boards
The profusion carrier supports up to two processor mezzanine boards. Each
mezzanine board supports up to four Intel
®
Pentium
®
III Xeon
™
processors.
Pentium III Xeon
processor
packaged in an
S.E.C. cartridge
Installed: Up to eight Pentium III
Xeon processors, packaged in single edge contact
(S.E.C.) cartridges and installed in 330-pin Slot 2 processor connectors, operating at
1.8 V to 3.5 V. The profusion carrier provides connectors for two processor
mezzanine boards. Each mezzanine board provides four Slot
2
connectors. The
carrier's voltage regulator is automatically programmed by the processor's VID pins to
provide the required voltage.
Memory modules
Two dual plug-in modules containing interleaved pathway to main memory supporting
PC100 registered SDRAM. Each memory module supports from 128
MB to 16 GB of
error correction code (ECC) memory using sixteen 72-bit dual inline memory modules
(DIMMs). The modules interface to the profusion carrier through the midplane.
