6-12 Maintenance
When connecting with Fibre Channel disk array unit ST12000
If all logical drives on ST12000 are removed, always run [Administration]
→
[Scan
Devices] on the SAN Array Manager Client. If a popup message "Error returned by the
server. Error code: 0xd001." appears after device scanning, perform the device scanning
again. Do not run scanning for hardware changes from the device manager if no logical
drives are created on ST12000.
Display of unreadable disk
If no logical drives are created on ST12000, an unreadable disk may appear on the
Volume Manager. However, this does not cause any trouble for the system operation. In
addition, if logical drives are created in this status, a popup message "Unsafe Removal of
Device" and an alert message in the Volume Manager "pnp provider reported physical
disk \Device\Harddiskx was removed or temporarily unavailable." may appear. This does
not also cause any trouble for the system operation.
Update for NEC ESMPRO Agent
NEC ESMPRO Agent does not manage a fibre channel disk array. Therefore, you need
not run the update for NEC ESMPRO included in CD-ROM bundled with the fibre
channel disk array.
