9-50 Upgrading Your Server
Installation
Take the following steps to install a PCI card on the riser card:
IMPORTANT:
The full-height riser card is equipped with an
"insulator (black)" to protect PCI cards. Do not remove the insulator,
and handle it carefully. The insulator is not shown in the figures in this
manual for simplifying the illustrations.
NOTES:
Each riser card supports low-profile or full-height PCI cards. Before installing a
PCI card, confirm that the type of the PCI card.
When installing a PCI card, confirm that the card connector matches the connector
of the riser card.

See page 9-4 to prepare.
2.
Pull out the server from the rack (as described on page 9-4).
3.
Remove the top cover (as described on page 9-24).
4.
Remove the screws holding the riser card in place.
5.
Grasp a handle on the riser module assembly and lift straight up and remove the riser
module assembly from the server.
NOTE:
Be very careful not to contact the other component.
