Configuring Your Server 4-49
Clearing CMOS Data
1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" in Chapter 9 to prepare.
2.
Pull the server out from the rack (see Chapter 9).
3.
Remove the top cover (see Chapter 9).
4.
Verify the location of CMOS clear jumper switch (see Chapter 2).
5.
Change jumper switch setting from "Protect" to "Clear".
6.
After five seconds later, reinstall the jumper.
7.
Reassemble the server.
8.
Connect the power cord and then press the POWER switch to turn on the server.
9.
Press
F2
during POST to run the BIOS Setup utility, and execute [Load Setup Defaults]
from Exit menu.
Clearing Password
1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" in Chapter 9 to prepare.
2.
Pull the server out from the rack (see Chapter 9).
3.
Remove the top cover (see Chapter 9).
4.
Verify the location of password clear jumper switch (see Chapter 2).
5.
Change jumper switch setting from "Protect" to "Clear".
6.
Reassemble the server, and press the POWER switch to turn on the server.
7.
Press
F2
during POST to run the BIOS Setup utility, and set the password again.
Execute [Exit Saving Changes].
8.
Power off the server, and change jumper switch setting from "Clear" to "Protect".
9.
Reassemble the server.
