Chapter 2 Preparations

Removal
You can remove the Hard Disk Drive by using the following procedure.
Important
If you dispose of the removed hard disk drive, follow instructrions
described in
Chapter 1 (1. Transfer, Movement, and Disposal) in
“Maintenance Guide”
.
1. Refer to
Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal)
for preparations.
2. Unlock the door and open the door of the 2.5-inch
Hard Disk Drive bay.
3. Remove the Hard Disk Drive while referring to
steps 2 in
Chapter 2 (1.12.2 Installation)
.
4. Close the door and lock with the door lock key.

Removing the 2.5-inch HDD cage for additional drives
You can remove the 2.5-inch HDD cage for additional drives by using the following procedure.
1. Refer to
Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal)
for preparations.
2. Remove the side cover and front bezel while referring to
Chapter 2 (1.4 Removing the Side Cover
and
1.5 Removing the Front Bezel)
.
3. Referring to
Chapter 2, (1.12.3 Removal)
of this document, remove all Hard Disk Drives installed in
the 2.5-inch HDD cage for additional drives.
4. Referring to
Chapter 2 (1.12.1 Installing an expansion 2.5-inch HDD cage)
, remove the HDD cage by
reversing the installation procedure.
5. If using the server with the HDD cage removed, attach the dummy cover you have put aside.
