Chapter 2 Preparations

Extra 2.5-inch HDD Cage
If the extra 2.5-inch HDD cage N8154-52 is installed in the 2.5-inch drive model, you can use the server with two
to eight hard disk drives connected.
•
You need to prepare the internal SAS/SATA cables K410-240(00) (for ports 0 to 3) and K410-204(00) (for
ports 4 to 7) separately available.
•
The slot numbers are assigned as shown below when the extra 2.5-inch HDD cage is installed.

Installation
Install the extra 2.5-inch HDD cage by using the following procedure.
1. Refer to
Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal)
for preparations.
2. Refer to
Chapter 2 (1.6 Removing the Top Cover)
to remove the top cover.
3. Remove the two screws from the
front panel and two screws from
the optical disk drive, and then pull
out the optical disk drive tray.
4. Remove the cover from the optical disk drive.
Important Keep the removed cover for future use.
5. Insert the extra 2.5-inch HDD cage
into the slot, and secure it to the
server chassis with the four
screws removed in step 3.
