7-4 Troubleshooting
POST Error Messages
Powering on the server automatically starts the self-diagnostic program, POST (Power On
Self-Test). When POST detects any error, it displays an error message and its measure on the
display unit. Follow the table below to troubleshoot such errors.

If restarting does not help,
replace the CPU/IO module.
0212 Keyboard Controller
Failed
Keyboard controller is faulty.
If restarting the server does not
help, replace the CPU/IO module.
0213 Keyboard locked -
Unlock key switch
Keyboard is locked.
Unlock the key switch.
0230 System RAM Failed at
offset
DIMM is faulty.

Replace DIMM.
•
Replace the CPU/IO module.
0231 Shadow RAM Failed at
offset
Shadow RAM is faulty.
•
Replace DIMM.
•
Replace the CPU/IO module.
0232 Extended RAM Failed at
address line
Extended RAM is faulty.

Replace DIMM.
•
Replace the CPU/IO module.
0233 Memory type mixing
detected
Memory of the different types
is installed.
Memory of the different types is
installed. Replace DIMM with
appropriate one.
0250 System battery is dead
-Replace and run

checksum bad-Default

System CMOS configuration
