4-46 Disassembly and Reassembly
Removing the Fans
Remove the six interior fans as follows:
1.
Power off the system and ensure it is disconnected from the ac wall outlet.
2.
Remove the left and right side panels as described earlier in this chapter.
3.
Locate the fan to be removed and unplug its power connector (see.
"Connector Locations" in Appendix D.
4.
If the fan being removed is one of the three located in the fan housing (see
Figure below), then continue with the next step, otherwise go to step 9.
5.
Remove the four screws (A) securing the fan housing (B) to the chassis.
6.
Open the fan housing.
7.
Remove and save the two screws (C) securing the fan to the fan housing (see
Figure below).
8.
Remove the fan (D), go to step 11.
9.
Remove and save the two screws securing the fan to the chassis.
10.
Remove the fan.
11.
Repeat steps 3 through 10 for each of the other five fans.
