Operating Procedure
To be available the SNMP for 2000 IPS, register the following SNMP data to the 2000 IPS using the MAT
or SNMP manager.
Once SNMP data is registered, the operation of 2000 IPS is not required.
Also, a part of MIB system information can be changed from the SNMP manager.
(1) MAT Operation
STEP1:
Open the SNMP port of the system by CM0B Y=03>00.
After setting of the data, execute the system data backup and press the SW1 of MP card of Main
Site.
STEP2:
Set the community name (for system password) by CM0B Y=03>10-11.
There are three community names as follows.
“public”: SNMP manager can read All MIB information
“admin”: SNMP manager can read All MIB information, and can write a part of MIB informa-
tion.
“Optional community name”: SNMP manager can read/write the MIB information such as a
general SNMP
Usually, set the “Optional community name” by CM0B Y=03>10-11.
Community name “public” is always available.
To avoid the unauthorized access to the network, use the community name “admin” only for the
system construction (CM0B Y=03>01).
STEP3:
Set the IP address for SNMP manager by CM0B Y=03>80-83.
STEP4:
Set the system information (sysDescr) by CM0B Y=03>20-27.
STEP5:
Set the system contact (sysContact) by CM0B Y=03>30-33.
STEP6:
Set the system name (sysName) by CM0B Y=03>40-43.
STEP7:
Set the system location (sysLocation) by CM0B Y=03>50-53.
STEP8:
Specify whether the trap is sent or not by CM0B Y=03>02.
STEP9:
Set the IP address for the destination of trap by CM0B Y=03>60-63.
STEP10:
Set the community name for the destination of trap by CM0B Y=03>70-77.
STEP11:
When using the NAT, set the IP address for the trap source by CM0B Y=03>90.
STEP12:
Execute the system data backup by CMEC Y=6>0:0.
STEP13:
Press the SW1 of MP card.
