Recording Urgent Messages
After you record a message, you can tag it as “Urgent” so that the message gets priority handling in the
recipient’s mailbox. When the recipient logs on to his mailbox, the Voice Mail system immediately says,
You
have Urgent Messages. You have ____ (total) messages.
Then, when the recipient presses L to listen, the
Voice Mail system says,
This is an Urgent Message
, then plays the message.
Notes:
You can turn on Message Notification for only the Urgent Messages you receive. See Message
Notification.
If the recipient does not listen to the Urgent Message within a pre-programmed amount of time, the
Voice Mail system can return the message to the sender. See your system Administrator.
Auto Attendant callers can also leave Urgent Messages for extension users (if the Voice Mail system
is so programmed).
To record an urgent message
1.
Record a message using RS, MF, or FD. Press # when done.
2.
Press * U (*8).
Recording Confidential Messages
After you record a message, you can tag it as “Confidential”. Recipients of Confidential Messages will not be
able to use the MF command or the Auto Forward feature to forward the message to another mailbox.
Note:
Auto Attendant callers can also leave Confidential Messages for extension users (if the Voice Mail
system is so programmed).
To record a confidential message
1.
Record a message using RS, MF, or FD. Press # when done.
2.
Press * C (*2).
