Intel LANDesk Client Manager Installation
When you install Intel
®
LANDesk
®
Client Manager, do not select Alert on LAN. Your system
does not support Alert on LAN.
Selecting the Alert on LAN component causes the system to hang at the message “New
hardware found, Intel 82801AA SMBus controller Windows is installing the software for your
system.” This condition requires the reinstallation of your operating system and the software that
shipped on your hard drive.
Communication and Network Riser Card Installation
Before you install the communication and network riser (CNR) card in the CNR connector on
the motherboard, disconnect the power cable from the NEC PowerMate CT 815 computer.
If you install the CNR card in the CNR connector while the power cable is connected to the
computer, standby power is available to the computer. Standby power can prevent the adapter
from communicating with the network. In this state, the link light lights if a network connection
is active. The adapter appears to be fully functional to the system, but you cannot send or receive
packets. In the Windows 2000 operating system, positioning the mouse over the network icon in
the tray indicates that no cable is attached.
