DIMM Memory Module

The following figure shows the locations of the DIMM module and processor sockets on the
system board.

Removing the DIMM Module
Remove a DIMM module as follows.
Before opening the system and before handling boards or DIMM
modules, reduce static discharge by touching the chassis.
1.
Remove the cover (see “Removing the Cover”).
2.
Locate the DIMM sockets on the system board (see the figure “Locating the DIMM and
Processor Sockets”).
3.
Eject a DIMM module by pressing the plastic clips at the outer edges of the socket away
from the module (see the following figure, “Removing a DIMM Module”).
4.
Grasp the center of the module and pull it out of the socket.
5.
Store the module in an anti-static bag.
6.
To install a DIMM module, see the following section.
7.
If not installing a DIMM module, replace the system cover.
