CMOS Battery Replacement
The CMOS is backed up by a 3-volt coin-cell type battery intalled in a socket on the system
board. Replace the CMOS battery as follows. (See Section 5 for parts removal procedures
necessary for CMOS battery replacement.)
1.
Turn off and unplug the system unit and any external option connected to it.
2.
Remove the system unit cover.
3.
Remove the system board.
4.
Locate the coin-cell battery on the system board (see Figure 4-2).

Carefully lift the battery from the socket tabs and out of the socket (see
Figure 4-3).
6.
With the positive (+) side facing up, press the new battery into the socket.
