System Board Settings
The system board in your computer contains a 27-pin block of configuration jumpers in a
3 x 9 array. Jumpers are set correctly at the factory for your configuration. Conditions that
require changing the switch settings are as follows.

Change the system operating speed
n
Clear the User or Administrator password
n
Reset the CMOS RAM settings to the default values
n
Disable or enable access to the Setup program
n
Recover from a corrupted BIOS during a BIOS upgrade
NOTE:
The clear CMOS jumper is intended to
be used only if the BIOS has been corrupted
during a BIOS upgrade. A description of how to
use the jumper is found later in this section under
“Recovery Boot Enable Jumper.”
CHANGING JUMPER SETTINGS
To change the switch settings, follow these steps.
CAUTION:
Switches are set correctly at the
factory for your configuration. Only change (or
check) the appropriate switch setting if you are
upgrading your processor. Otherwise, keep the
switches at their factory settings.

Power off and unplug the system and any external options.
WARNING:
The system power must be off
before changing switch settings.
