Tilt the SIMM towards the locking tabs using equal pressure at the ends of the
SIMM until it locks into the socket.

Replace any cables or boards that you may have removed during this procedure.

Replace the system unit side panel (see “Replacing the Side Panel”).
NOTE:
If you find a discrepancy in the amount
of memory displayed at the Power-On Self-Test
with the amount of memory that you installed,
check that you installed the SIMMs correctly.
Processor Upgrade
The type 8 zero-insertion force (ZIF) socket makes a processor upgrade easy. The ZIF
socket accepts pin-grid-array (PGA) processors, such as the primary processor or an
OverDrive processor.
CAUTION:
Incorrect installation of the
processor can damage the processor, system
board, or both. Follow the installation
instructions carefully.
The system requires a heatsink on the upgrade
processor.
