Installation procedure
1. Start ShieldPRO.
2. Right click [Start]
[Explore].
3. Navigate to C:\WINXP\DRV\Audio.
4. Double click on the file
setup.exe
application.
5. On the [SoundMAX Install] screen press
Next.
6. If a [Hardware Installation] window appears indicating the Windows Logo test has not been
passed, press
Continue Anyway
.
7. Wait for a short while until the [Installshield Wizard Complete] screen appears.
8. Select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” and press
Finish.
9. ShieldPRO will reboot with the chipset drivers activated.
10. Ensure that audio can be heard when Windows is restarted.

Deletion procedure
1. Start Windows.
2. Click [Start]
[Control Panel].
3. Double-click [Add or Remove Programs].
4. Click [SoundMAX] and [Change/Remove].
5. If the [Confirm File Deletion] dialog box appears, click [Yes].
6. Follow the directions on the dialog box to uninstall the SoundMAX utility.
7. When the uninstallation is complete, reboot ShieldPRO.
7.4.4.
Modem Drivers
The Modem drivers for the ShieldPRO are provided in the Drivers CD that is supplied with the
product. These drivers are preloaded with your factory supplied ShieldPRO.
In the case where the [Start]
[Control Panel]
[System]
[Hardware]
[Device Manager]
screen indicates PCI Modem under Other Devices with a yellow question mark, then the drivers
must be reloaded.
In the case where Windows is re-installed on your ShieldPRO, these drivers must be reloaded.
