9. Options
9.1.
Extended RAM Board FC-UG-M013 (1GB)
ShieldPRO can be equipped with an extended RAM board in order to operate more applications
concurrently and/or process larger data at higher speed.
Be sure to select an extended RAM board specified as an option of ShieldPRO.
9.1.1.
Installation Procedure of Extended RAM Board
Extended RAM boards are extremely sensitive to static electricity. An electrostatic shock may cause the
board to be damaged. Before you can handle an extended RAM board, you should discharge static
electricity from your body by touching a metallic object and attach an antistatic wriststrap.
Do not touch the connector of the extended RAM board with your hands. Failure to follow this instruction
may cause a fault such as poor connection.
Be careful not to touch the parts and soldering on the extended RAM board with your hands.
Ensure you insert the extended RAM board into ShieldPRO in its correct orientation. Failure to do so
may cause the board and/or the connector to be damaged.
Before installing an extended RAM board in ShieldPRO, confirm that the board is compatible with
ShieldPRO.
1. Turn off ShieldPRO.
2. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet and remove the AC adapter from ShieldPRO.
3. Close the LCD display panel and turn ShieldPRO upside down.
4. Remove the battery pack from ShieldPRO. See "5.5.1 Installing and Replacing the Battery"
for the removal procedure.
5. Remove the screws (4) fixing the memory slot cover and remove the memory slot cover.
