Resume failure
If you change the environment or configuration of ShieldPRO when using suspend (standby) state,
the working data may be lost and ShieldPRO may not resume from suspend (standby) state
correctly.
In addition, if suspend (standby) feature is activated in any of the following situations, working data
may be lost:
System hardware change (including setting driver or adding printer),
Outputting data to a printer,
Playing audio or motion picture,
Reading/writing data to/from SD card or hard disk,
Reading/writing data to/from floppy disk, CD-R or DVD-R,
Using an application not applicable to suspend (standby) state feature,
Using a peripheral device or expanded board not applicable to suspend (standby) state feature,
Executing the Windows start or exit procedure, or
Entering ShieldPRO into suspend (standby) state during connection to network through fax
modem or LAN by communication software. Some applications accessing the network may
cause a loss of data. Before using an application that accesses the network, contact a network
administrator to check if suspend (standby) state can be used.
Other notes
Always abort communication software if used before entering suspend (standby) state. If
suspend (standby) state is entered while communication is active, the line may be left open, and
telephone line fees may apply.
ShieldPRO may not be resumed properly if a SCSI PC card is used, depending on the
combination of the SCSI PC card and the connected device.
Remove USB devices from ShieldPRO before entering suspend (standby) state.
Do not connect or disconnect a USB device to/from ShieldPRO while ShieldPRO transits to
suspend (standby) state.
Do not replace disks and PC and SD cards while ShieldPRO transits to suspend (standby)
state. Failure to follow this instruction may cause data to be saved improperly.
Changing the device configuration in suspend (standby) state may cause ShieldPRO to recover
from the state improperly.
Wait for five seconds or longer after transition to suspend (standby) state before resuming the
session.
Resolution taken if resume feature is executed improperly
The following situations indicate improper execution of the resume feature:
Applications do not operate, or
The data existing before suspend (standby) state cannot be restored.
If an application generates any of the above situations, do not use suspend (standby) state feature.
