Plug one end of the AC power cable into the AC adapter and the other end into a properly
grounded 120- or 240-volt wall outlet.

Do not cover or place objects on the AC adapter. Keeping the adapter
clear of objects lets the adapter cool properly during use.
Only use the AC adapter that comes with your Versa LXi. Although other adapters look similar,
using them can damage your system.
Powering the System On and Off
To power on, locate the Power button on the right hand side above the keyboard and press it.
To
power off the system, press the Power button. In Windows, the computer automatically shuts
down, when “Shut Down” is selected from the Start menu. That is, you do not need to press the
Power button to switch off the computer.
Using the Battery
The NEC Versa comes with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery pack that’s easy to
install and remove.
To prevent accidental battery ignition or explosion, adhere to the
following:

Keep the battery away from extreme heat.
!
Keep metal objects away from the battery connectors to prevent a short circuit.
!
Make sure the battery is properly installed in the battery bay.
!
Read the precautions printed on the battery.
