Replacing the Battery
This section describes how to remove and replace the primary battery.
WARNING
To prevent accidental battery ignition or explosion, strictly adhere to the following:
Keep the battery away from extreme heat.
Keep metal objects away from the battery terminals to prevent a short circuit.
Make sure the battery is properly installed in the battery bay.
Read the precautions printed on the battery, and/or on the Warning Leaflet inserted between your
keyboard and LCD screen.
Removing the Battery in your System
Caution
Be sure to save your data before replacing the battery pack or connecting the AC adapter. Failure to do so
can result in data loss.

Place your notebook in this position and follow the steps stated to remove the battery.
Save your files, exit Windows®, and turn off
system power.
Caution
Be extra careful to avoid damage at your system.
Close the LCD panel and turn the system over.
Unlock the battery security lock.
Hold the latch to the "unlock" position.
Lift this area up.
Carefully remove the battery from the battery
bay.
