The following explanation is for connecting to a wireless LAN access point that
broadcasts its network name (SSID).
For information about other connection methods, please refer to Windows help.

Click the Network icon in the task bar notification area.
A list of network names (SSID) and signal state should come up.

Confirm that your computer's wireless LAN function is turned on.

Click on the network name (SSID) of the wireless LAN access point that
you would like to connect to.

Click [Connect] after confirming that the [Connect automatically]
checkbox is selected.

If a window comes up asking for a network security key, enter the security
key of the network you are connecting to and click [Next] to continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions for the procedure.
Configuration is now complete.
Memory

Turn the power on and immediately press <F2> key several times.
The BIOS setup utility will then be displayed.

Select [Power] on the [Config] menu, and then press <Enter>.

Select [Disable Built-in Battery], and then press <Enter>.

Confirm that [Yes] is selected, and then press <Enter>.
The battery becomes unavailable, and the power is turned off.
Wait for 3 to 5 minutes until the PC cools down.

Remove the battery pack from the base unit.

Loosen the screws shown below using a Phillips screwdriver, and then
remove the bottom cover.
Configuring the wireless LAN
The wireless LAN functionality can be configured with the [Power Management] tab
in Driver properties.

The automatic connection settings can be changed any time when desired.
Installing memory
Before installing or removing memories, disable the "Fast Startup" function. For more
detailed information, please refer to "Disabling the "Fast Startup" function" (p.22).
