Power Failures
If the timer was programmed, all programmed information will be lost in the course of the failure, and if timer record-
ing is in progress it will be interrupted.
If Tape Movement Stops Automatically
●
If trouble occurs during tape movement or in the mechanism inside the VCR, a safety device works to stop the
operation of the VCR. This prevents damage to the tape. If this occurs, the power will be turned off automatically.
●
If moisture (condensation) is present on the head drum, the VCR cannot be operated. Remove the video cas-
sette and let the VCR remain unused, for a couple of hours.
During the winter months, when condensation may easily form, the power cord of the VCR should remain con-
nected to the mains.
Cleaning the VCR
●
Wipe off the VCR exterior with a clean, dry cloth. Never use cleaning fluids, chemicals or wax.
Video Head Cleaning
This VCR incorporates an automatic head cleaner which operates whenever the
cassette is ejected or inserted.
Cleaning of the video and audio heads is the customer’s responsibility and is not
covered under the terms of the warranty. Always use quality tapes to reduce the
frequency of cleaning.
Dirt accumulation on the head after long periods of use can cause problems.
If high quality video tapes are used in this unit, the video heads should not normally
require cleaning. However it is possible that the heads may become clogged when
playing old or damaged tapes.
If the image on your screen contains a lot of snow when playing back tapes with
quality recordings (see illustration on left), the heads may require cleaning.
