This stitch is used to sew edge on women
and children’s wear and table cloths.
a. SCALLOP HEM
1. Fold the fabric right sides together in and
sew along the edge.
2. Cut the fabric along the seam leaving an
allowance of 3 mm (1/8”) for seaming.
Notch the allowance.
3. Turn fabric over and push out the curved
seam to the surface and press it.
b. SCALLOP EDGING
1. Sew on hem line.
2. Trim fabric close to stitching taking care
not to cut the thread.
ELASTIC STITCH SEWING
It assures you of a stitch that is strong and
flexible and will give with the fabric without
breaking. Good for easy to ravel and knit
fabrics. It is good for joining durable fabrics
such as denims.
