4.2 Description of ATEX products
Vacuum Hose Reel 881 EX, marked with the EX sym-
bol are protection level 3D equipment according to
directive 2014/34/EU.
This means that models with the EX symbol may be
placed in areas classified as zone 22 according to dir-
ective 1999/92/EC.
4.2.1 Category limit
The function of the Vacuum Hose Reel 881 EX is to
be a part of an extraction piping system. Even if the
product with EX symbol is category 3D equipment for
use in zone 22 (881 exterior), it can be used with a
piping system internally classified as zone 20 or 21.
Since there is no internal ignition source inside the
reel, it is to be considered as simple piping and does
not fall under the scope of the directive 2014/34/EU.

5 Installation
5.1 Mounting instruction
NOTE!
The maximum mounting height for the reel is 4
m. See

Make sure that the surface, on which to mount the
reel, is level. Drill four holes, using the hole template
which comes in the package.

Fit the mounting brackets in such a way that it will
make the reel hanging horizontally. Ensure that
suitable fixing bolts are used considering the ceil-
ing or wall construction material. The bolts must
each stand a tractive force of a minimum of 3500
N.

Lift the reel up and fasten it in the brackets.

Pull out the safety lock.

Put the hose through the outlet of the outlet arm.

Fit the hose stop in the required position on the
hose.

should be used during service or repair work on
the reel, for example when placing the hose.
