Vacuum Hose Reel 881 EX
EN
NOTE!
• Ensure that the duct system is properly con-
nected to the earth.
• The hose must be fitted with hose clips. Do
not drill or fit with screws.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The damper plate in the reel outlet could cause
squeeze injuries when the hose is coiled up.
Make sure the hose has been completely coiled
up when the reel is connected to the duct.
5.2.2 Electrical installation
See
The reel is equipped with a micro-switch and a pilot
signal cable, see
/B, which could control the
high vacuum extraction unit to make it start by uncoil-
ing the hose and to stop by recoiling the hose onto the
drum. A suitable motor starter is required to execute
this function.
The electrical installation must be done by a qualified
electrician according to local regulations.
5.2.3 Earthing
See
.
Connect the earthing cable to an earthing point on the
reel.
5.3 Installation in ATEX zone 22
See
5.3.1 Permitted materials
The hose reel is only intended to be a part of an ex-
traction system transporting dust with the following
properties:
• MIE (Minimum Ignition Energy) > 3 MJ and
• MIT (Minimum Ignition Temperature) > 115 °C.
Do not extract items that may cause ignition or block-
ing.
5.3.2 Requirement for ATEX conformity (x)
The microswitch should be connected to an intrinsic
safe circuit or be left unconnected, see
5.3.3 Accessories in classified locations
(ATEX)
All connected accessories must be installed accord-
ing to applicable regulations for EX products. Please
contact Technical Support, AB Ph. Nederman & Co. for
detailed information regarding the installation of the
Vacuum Hose Reel 881 EX accessories in classified
areas.
5.3.4 Connection to duct
See
and
.
The reel should be connected to the fixed duct and
high vacuum extraction system with a connection
hose.
NOTE!
• Ensure that the duct system is properly con-
nected to earth.
5.3.5 Secure conductivity
Every time new cleaning equipment is connected
to the hose, the conductivity between the cleaning
equipment and the reel must be measured and se-
cured. Electrical resistance to be below 1 MΩ.
5.3.6 Connection to cleaning equipment
WARNING! Risk of fire or explosion
Only conductive cleaning equipment (electrical
resistance to be below 1 MΩ) should be used. If
the conductivity between the cleaning equip-
ment and the reel is not secured (electrical res-
istance to be below 1 MΩ) there is a risk of fire
or explosion.
5.3.7 Electrical installation
B.
To ensure proper function and required level of pro-
tection with regards to the equipment category, make
sure that the following points are checked:
• The electrical installation must be done by a certi-
fied electrician. A certified electrician must also pay
attention to the conditions for installations in zones
classified according to ATEX.
• Check that proper measures have been taken to
avoid all types of electrical stray currents to and/or
from the piping system and electrical wiring.
• Connected hoses and/or piping must be conductive
and grounded to the reel earth connection point.
5.3.8 Earthing
.
Connect the earthing cable to an earthing point on the
reel.
6 Operation
.
• ≤ °30 Optimal
• < °45 Okay
• ≥ °45 Do not use
