Trouble Shooting
Water leaking from the SK VAP Evaporative Module Tank
1.
Check the tank is installed level.
2.
The tank might be damaged. Check the tank for damage or holes
3.
Drain pipe-work is damaged or incorrectly fitted. Check the pipe-work for leaks.
Water carries over into air stream
1.
The air velocity across the face of the humidifier might be too great.
Check the air velocity against the specification for the unit. Note
that the system has the following limits (see table) which are
dependant on its position relative to the fan.
2.
The air velocity might be uneven. Fit a perforated plate before the SK VAP.
3.
The humidifier matrix might be incorrectly fitted. Check the humidifier cassettes have been fitted correctly.
4.
The water distribution header is damaged or incorrectly fitted. Check all pipes and fittings for damage. Check the
water distribution header has been fitted correctly.
Loss of performance
1.
The humidifier cassette is blocked or damaged. Check for damaged cassette and replace if required.
2.
The humidifier cassettes are incorrectly fitted. Check cassettes have been fitted correctly.
3.
Incorrect air flow. Check the airflow across the face of the humidifier and ensure it is within the specification.
4.
Insufficient water is being supplied to the matrix. Check the rotation of the Module pump. Check the water supply
pressure. Check the water distribution spray bars are not blocked with scale.
Scale build up on the surface of the matrix
1.
Excess concentration of minerals and salts in the reservoir. Check and reduce the cleaning cycle interval.
2.
Water quality has changed. As above
Note: A build up of “dirt” on the air on side may indicate air filtration problems.
Scale forming between wet and dry areas of the humidifier cassette.
1.
Uneven water distribution. Check water distribution pipe-work for blockages.
2.
Matrix does not get completely wet or completely dry during normal operation. Review system control parameters.
Unit will not fill with water
1.
Unit is not on. Switch on and check setpoint.
2.
Unit is set to un-occupied. Check occupancy times, refer to occupancy section.
3.
No demand for humidity. Refer to controls section.
Module Pump will not start
1.
Unit is not calling for humidity / no control signal. Check control signal
2.
Water level not high enough. Check level float switch position.
3.
Unit in fault mode. Check fault log.
4.
Unit is not on. Switch on.
5.
Unit is set to un-occupied. Check occupancy times, refer to occupancy section.
