General Recommendations
Follow these general installation rules in order to avoid any restrictions inside the distribution pipes and
the humidifier evaporation chamber, as well as condensation accumulation, which can lead to severe
water accumulation in the duct or a humidifier malfunction.
CAUTION: Risk of malfunction. Avoid kinks, sags and areas where condensate
can be trapped.
x
Ensure that the slope of the steam hose (rigid or flexible) is not less than 15% (7
horizontal lengths for 1 vertical length), in order to ensure continuous drainage of
condensation back to the humidifier or to a steam trap.
x
Use flexible steam hoses for short runs (up to 5 m) or for interconnecting between the
rigid pipe runs. Ensure that there are no kinks and that the hose does not sag when using
flexible tubing. Do not use flexible hoses for curved portions of the steam line.
x
Determine the total steam line for insulated hard piping based on the capacity of the
humidifier, such as 0.67 m for each kg/hr capacity of the humidifier with a maximum of 15
m. Consult factory for longer steam line runs.
x
If you are using a rigid copper pipe, use insulation to diminish condensate build-up.
