IntRoductIon
The Ness RR1 Mini Radio Reed Switch is a
3V battery operated transmitter with internal
reed switch.
The low profile body of the reed switch and
supplied magnet allows for unobtrusive
installation on door and window frames
in cases where hardwired reed switches
cannot be used.
The RR1 also features radio encryption and
supervision for radio security.
BatteRy
A 3V lithium battery is supplied. Connects
to the fixed battery terminals.
The RR1 will send a low battery signal when
the battery voltage drops below 2.5 volts.
Battery life depends on the number of
transmissions per day. Battery life will be
shorter when used on high traffic doors or
windows.
The red LED Flashes when transmitting
during low battery condition.

The red LED is visible when the cover is
closed and is on while the unit is transmitting.

SUpERVISION: Enables transmission of
regular supervision signals. Default is ON.

ENCRypTED: Enables radio transmission in
Ness 56bit format. This is compatible will most
late model Ness receivers and radio control
panels. Default is ON.

RADIO ENABLE: Enables the radio transmitter.
This link should always be on. Default is ON.
taMpeR swItch
The tamper switch detects removal of the
RR1 cover. A Tamper signal is sent on
activation.
leaRn Message
The Ness RR1 sends its Learn Message
when the battery is first connected. This is
used to teach the transmitter’s unique code
to the Ness control panel/receiver being
programmed. Refer to the control panel’s
programming instructions.
