Yap Jack Pro User’s Guide – Chapter 3

Calling Experience
Your calling experience depends on many
factors. Some of these factors you have
control over and some of them you don’t.
ISP Access
—Because this device
dials into an ISP access telephone
number, you need to make sure that
you have the correct and the most local
direct number. You may also want to
have a few backup access numbers
available in case the one you usually
dial into becomes busy. If the access
number is busy, the device will redial
the number of times indicated in the
ISP Redial
setting.
Disconnect/Stay Connected
—If your
ISP access number is local and you
want to make many, quick calls without
dialing into the ISP each time, you can
choose to keep the Yap Jack Pro
connected to the ISP for as long as you
want. To stay connected, you need to
change the setting for
Connect
Options
from
Disconnect
to
Stay
Connected
. (See Chapter 4,
Configuring Your Device
, for details
on how to change this setting.)
ISP Disconnections
—Sometimes
ISPs drop connections. If this
happens, and your call is dropped,
simply place the call again.
Call Information
While your call is in progress, you can see the following
types of information:
Telephone number called
Call status
Call duration
Cost of call
